Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari, as the chief guest at the Mumbai OTM closing and awards ceremony on Saturday, said that Rajasthan is famous for its palaces, heritage sites, infrastructure eco-tourism, etc. The participation of the Tourism Department in OTM has opened the doors of tourism development in Rajasthan for foreign professionals.
Deputy Chief Minister said at the function organized at Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai that OTM is the leading travel trade show in Asia. This time it has been organized from 8 to 10 February at Jio World Convention Center. This will give a great boost to Rajasthan tourism.
Important role in hosting G-20 meetings-
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Rajasthan Tourism has played an important role in hosting the G-20 meetings in many cities. Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaipur have been identified as MICE hubs of India to showcase and promote the tourism potential of the state internationally. The image of Rajasthan will be further enhanced. He further informed that tourism and allied industries and trade in Rajasthan account for about 14 percent of the state’s economy and provide economic benefits such as employment generation, regional development, infrastructure development, and promotion of local handicrafts, etc. In 2022, the state improved its position to 7th position for both domestic and foreign tourists. According to recent data, the number of visitors coming to the state in the year 2023 will be quite high. Hosting over 17.90 crore domestic tourists, as well as approximately 17 lakh foreign visitor arrivals, reflects the diverse range of guests.
