Nine personnel of Rajasthan Police’s Tourist Assistance Force (TAF), currently learning French, participated in the French music performance Le Voyage de Rézé at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC), Jaipur. The event was organised under the France–India Year of Innovation 2026 to promote cultural exchange and interaction with French and Francophone artists.

French Training for 22 Police Personnel

Alliance Française Jaipur is providing French-language training to 22 TAF personnel to help them assist French-speaking tourists visiting Rajasthan more effectively. Participation in the concert offered the trainees an opportunity to engage with French-speaking artists and experience a multilingual cultural programme.

Music, Poetry and Live Art

Organised under the France Live series by the Embassy of France in India, the French Institute in India and Alliance Française de Jaipur, the 70-minute performance brought together music, poetry, live painting and visual projections.

Four artists presented familiar, forgotten and original compositions. Rézé performed vocals and guitar, Soifran handled percussion, Emde created live paintings, and Christou projected the artwork in real time. The performance was presented in French and English.

Indian and French Artists Perform Together

The programme also featured a jamming session with Indian performers, including Siana of Neerja Modi School, one of the youngest hula-hoop performers, and young morchang and khartal player Mamta Sapra. Their collaboration with the French artists highlighted the role of music in bringing cultures together.

Gregor Troumel, director of the French Institute in India, said the performance transformed music into a shared experience created by artists and audiences, reflecting the spirit of the France–India Year of Innovation. The production is being presented in nine Indian cities through the France Live series and the Alliance Française network.

Dr Tulika Gupta, president of Alliance Française de Jaipur, said such events aim to bring French performing arts to wider audiences and keep cultural programmes accessible and free.

Nathmal Didel, Commissioner of College Education, Rajasthan, and Special Secretary in the Finance (Taxation) Department, attended as the chief guest. Students and representatives from several educational institutions and organisations, including Poornima University, JK Lakshmipat University, The Kulish School, The Palace School, IICD, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth and Birla Public School, Pilani, also participated.

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session between the artists and the audience.
