Sambhar Utsav will develop on the lines of Kutch Rann Utsav-Diya Kumari

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari said that there is a lot of tourism potential in the Sambhar Lake area and by developing it, tourism and employment opportunities can be increased here. The Deputy Chief Minister said this during the inauguration of the three-day Sambhar Utsav organized at Sambhar Lake on Friday.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari said that there is a lot of tourism potential in the Sambhar Lake area and by developing it, tourism and employment opportunities can be increased here. The Deputy Chief Minister said this during the inauguration of the three-day Sambhar Utsav organized at Sambhar Lake on Friday. He instructed the officials to immediately start working on all the possibilities here and develop the Sambar festival on the lines of the Run Festival of Kutch.

He said that Sambhar Lake covers a very large area and it is a Ramsar site. Lakhs of flamingos and other exotic birds come here to migrate. If facilities are developed by working on the possibilities here, then it can become a big tourist destination. During this, he also visited the exhibition, fancy kites etc. organized by the Tourism Department.

Take steps to conserve flamingos

The Deputy Chief Minister also did bird watching in Sambhar Lake near Nariasar Mor. During this, he said that lakhs of birds including flamingos and many other species come here every year. Their natural habitat should be protected.

The festival will continue till 28th January

The Sambhar Utsav organized by the Tourism Department will run from January 26-28. Here, the facilities for bird watching, salt lake visits, and watching the salt extraction process by train are available for the tourists. During the festival, there will be programs like the Sambhar Town Heritage Walk, Cycling Tour, Fancy Kite Flying, Photography Competition, Deepotsav, Cultural Evening, etc.
