The award ceremony, organised by the Shayarana Udaipur group—known for its 15 years of voluntary service to literature—celebrates outstanding contributions to Hindi literary culture. Dr Johri, an Assistant Professor in the Hindi Department, has authored over 50 books and has represented Rajasthan at several national-level poetry forums.

He was felicitated with a citation, memento, shawl and traditional turban in recognition of his literary achievements.

Eminent Guests Grace the Occasion

The award was presented by chief guest Geetesh Malviya, Additional Commissioner of the Rajasthan Devasthan Department. The event featured Dr Jinendra Shastri as the keynote speaker, while Dr Seema Singh presided over the Ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Shastri described literature as “not merely a collection of words but a healing force for human consciousness,” particularly relevant for today’s youth. Dr Seema Singh highlighted literature as a powerful medium for instilling values in society.

Poetry and Social Awareness Take Centre Stage

During the event, Dr Johri moved the audience with an emotional poem dedicated to mothers, drawing heartfelt appreciation from attendees.

Poets from districts including Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Kota, Udaipur, Kankroli and Pratapgarh enriched the programme with their recitations, creating an atmosphere of literary and cultural vibrancy.

Adding a social dimension, Utpal Naresh Rajoria, Organ Transplant Manager at GBH Hospital, delivered an awareness talk on organ donation. He highlighted that one brain-dead donor can potentially save up to nine lives through organ transplantation, including kidneys, lungs, liver, heart and eyes.

Future Literary Initiatives Outlined

Founder of the Shayarana Udaipur group, Manoj Geetankar, presented an overview of the organisation’s year-long literary activities and outlined upcoming plans, including state-level poetry meets, workshops and literature festivals.

The event was jointly conducted by Manoj Aanchaliya and Seema Ved, with participation from several noted poets and literary enthusiasts, making it a vibrant celebration of literature, creativity and social responsibility.
