: A meeting of the India Export Forum was held in Kanti Nagar, near Dhanwantri Hospital, Jodhpur, under the chairmanship of Khemchand Khatri. The meeting focused on expanding the forum’s membership and strengthening the export ecosystem across districts of the Jodhpur region.
During the meeting, executive members were assigned the responsibility of bringing two to three exporters and entrepreneurs from each district under the forum’s umbrella. The initiative aims to facilitate the expansion of the metropolitan unit and create a stronger network of exporters across the region.
According to Media In-charge Dharmendra Soni, members discussed the diverse industrial and export potential of different districts. Nagaur is known for tool exports, Jalore for granite, Barmer for traditional Barmeri prints, while other districts have significant potential in embroidery, herbal products, IT, pharmaceuticals, guar gum and agro-products, gems and jewellery, textiles, handicrafts, iron and wood products, and home décor.
The forum plans to connect entrepreneurs and exporters from these sectors to help them expand their international markets and increase exports of locally manufactured products.
Prominent exporter Khemraj Khatri suggested that the government should be approached through a memorandum seeking the introduction of international flight connectivity from Jodhpur Airport. He said direct international flights could enable overseas buyers to visit Jodhpur, purchase products directly from local manufacturers and exporters, and contribute to higher sales as well as increased revenue for the country.
Kamlesh Gehlot, in-charge of three states and a member of the National Council of the forum, said he would soon visit Gujarat and Maharashtra to connect small and large entrepreneurs and exporters and facilitate the formation of district-level units. He said the move would help strengthen the organisation and create a wider platform for exporters.
Forum Secretary Piyush Chhajed emphasised that the metropolitan unit should hold a meeting every month on a regular basis to ensure continued coordination and address issues faced by exporters and entrepreneurs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Metropolitan President Manish Salecha thanked all exporters and entrepreneurs for their participation and valuable suggestions.
