Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari reviewed the progress of tourism development projects undertaken by the Tourism Department and the Jodhpur Development Authority during her visit to Jodhpur on Sunday. She inspected the historic Sumanohara Baori at Mandore and directed officials to prepare a comprehensive conservation and restoration plan to preserve its historical and archaeological significance.

She instructed Additional Director of the Tourism Department, Dr Punit Singh, to prepare a detailed action plan for the phased development of the Government Museum in Mandore Garden. Stressing the need to preserve Mandore’s rich cultural and historical heritage, she said the site should be upgraded with modern tourism facilities to enhance its appeal among domestic and international visitors.

Water Laser Show to Showcase Jodhpur’s Heritage

Diya Kumari said the upcoming water laser show at Mandore Garden would become a major tourist attraction. The show will use modern technology to present Jodhpur’s glorious history, cultural heritage and significant historical events in an engaging manner. She also directed officials to develop adventure tourism activities at the site to further enrich the visitor experience.

Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Utsah Chaudhary informed her that work on the water laser show is progressing and is expected to be completed soon before being opened to tourists and the public.

Kaylana Lake Development Reviewed

The Deputy Chief Minister also inspected tourism infrastructure works at Kaylana Lake being carried out under the state Budget announcements. She instructed officials to complete the projects within the stipulated timeline while maintaining high quality standards, ensuring improved tourism and recreational facilities for both residents and visitors.

The inspection was attended by Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Utsah Chaudhary, Tourism Department Additional Director Dr Punit Singh, and officials from the concerned departments.
