Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari called for transforming Rajasthan into a year-round wedding destination, urging stakeholders to expand beyond the state’s traditional wedding hubs and promote emerging locations across the state.
Addressing the International Wedding and Tourism Conclave at a hotel in Kukas, Jaipur, on Sunday, she said Rajasthan should no longer be viewed as a wedding destination for only six months of the year but should attract destination weddings throughout all seasons.
Diya Kumari said that while Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur have already established themselves as globally renowned wedding destinations, it is now time to showcase the tourism potential of Shekhawati, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Dungarpur, Bharatpur, and Pushkar as premium wedding venues.
She highlighted the unique attractions of these destinations, noting that Shekhawati’s heritage havelis, Jaisalmer’s desert landscape, the natural beauty of Banswara and Dungarpur, Bharatpur’s wildlife, and Pushkar’s spiritual ambience offer distinctive experiences that can attract domestic and international wedding tourism.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that promoting wedding tourism throughout the year would generate significant employment opportunities for local artisans, hotels, transport operators, event planners, and other tourism-related businesses, while also providing a major boost to Rajasthan’s economy.
