Jaipur will get 100 electric buses

Self Government Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal said in the Vidhansabha on Tuesday that JCTSL has signed a contract to operate 100 electric buses in Jaipur city. He informed that in the budget announcement for the year 2023-24, 300 buses have been announced in Jaipur city, which includes 100 midi buses. He informed me that the process of making a tender for these buses on the service model is under process.

Answering the supplementary questions asked by the members in this regard during the Question Hour, the Minister of Autonomous Governance said that out of 209 permits issued for city bus service in Jaipur city, 200 buses are being operated by JCTSL. Of these, 130 are midi buses and 70 are low-floor buses. He informed me that 2 thousand 291 permits have been issued for private buses, out of which 2 thousand 40 buses are currently running.

The Minister for Self-Government said that by starting the second metro route in Jaipur city, traffic arrangements can be further facilitated, but due to some conditions of the central government, help is not available from the central government to start another metro route. Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA  Kalicharan Saraf, the Minister for Self-Government said that at present 209 permits for urban service and 2291 permits for minibusses have been issued by the Transport Department in Jaipur city. He informed that currently 200 low-floor buses are being operated by JCTSL and 2040 minibusses are being operated by private vehicle owners.  Dhariwal told that arrangements are being made to operate the buses according to the possible norms. He also informed us that the tender for the purchase of buses is under process.
