Smart meters will be installed

Under the budget announcement of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in the first phase, 30 thousand defective water meters will be replaced with smart water meters in three cities of the state by the Public Health Engineering Department. It also includes the replacement of 15,000 faulty meters in Jaipur city. Rs 25 crore has been approved for this.

Water Supply Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi said that the process of changing faulty meters of consumers under various schemes is going on in Jaipur and other cities of the state. Under the budget announcement of Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot, the process of changing the remaining 1 lakh 35 thousand defective meters of Jaipur city has also been started in a systematic manner under AMRUT 2.0. It is noteworthy that under the AMRUT scheme, about 71 thousand 300 water meters of Jaipur city have been replaced in a systematic manner.

He said that instructions have been given to the departmental officers not to send water bills for more than two months to the consumers of Jaipur city at fixed time intervals so that no consumer gets burdened at the same time.

Dr. Joshi informed that as per the announcement made by the Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot, 100 per cent exemption in water charges has been given to domestic consumers with running meters in the state for water consumption up to 15 thousand liters per month.
