Jodhpur, June 21: In compliance with the directions of the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, and the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA), Jaipur, a series of yoga camps, meditation sessions, and awareness programmes were organized across Jodhpur district to commemorate International Yoga Day.




Yoga Camp Held at District Court Heritage Building
Under the guidance of Mr. Dinesh Tyagi, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (District & Sessions Judge), Jodhpur Metropolitan, a yoga camp was organized at the District Court Heritage Building premises on Sunday.
Mr. Rakesh Ramawat, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Jodhpur Metropolitan, informed that yoga instructor Mr. Pramod Sharma from Patanjali Yogpeeth conducted sessions on yoga postures, meditation, and pranayama, while also highlighting the significance of yoga in daily life.
Presiding officers from various courts under the Jodhpur Metropolitan jurisdiction, advocates associated with the Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC) system, court staff, and officials of the District Legal Services Authority actively participated in the session and practiced yoga and breathing exercises.
Collective Yoga Session Organized at Mahatma Gandhi Park
A district-level International Yoga Day programme was also held at Mahatma Gandhi Park, near the main entrance of the Collectorate premises, from 7:00 am to 7:30 am.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from District & Sessions Judge Puran Kumar Sharma, Special Judge (POCSO Court) Dr. Dushyant Dutt, Additional District & Sessions Judge Anubhav Sidana, Senior Civil Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahendra Kumar Tok, court employees, members of the Bar Association, and other stakeholders.
Under the supervision of yoga trainer Luna Ram Bhati, participants performed various yoga asanas and pranayama exercises. Speakers emphasized that regular yoga forms the foundation of a healthy, balanced, and stress-free lifestyle and encouraged everyone to incorporate it into their daily routine.
The programme concluded in a peaceful and well-organized atmosphere, with participants pledging to adopt a healthier lifestyle and promote physical and mental well-being through yoga.
Yoga a Way of Life, Not a One-Day Event: District Judge
Addressing the gathering, District & Sessions Judge Puran Kumar Sharma stated that, like every year, judicial officers and employees had come together to observe International Yoga Day through collective practice.
He stressed that yoga was not merely a one-day observance but a holistic way of life that promoted physical fitness, mental wellness, and emotional balance. He noted that regular yoga practice under expert guidance helped individuals remain physically and mentally healthy, enabling them to perform their responsibilities more effectively and contribute to societal and national development.
He urged all judicial officers and employees to dedicate at least 30 minutes every day to their health and make yoga an integral part of their daily schedule.
Meditation and Yoga Session Conducted at Women’s Correctional Home
As part of the International Yoga Day celebrations, a special meditation and yoga programme was organized at the Women’s Correctional Home, Jodhpur.
The programme was attended by District & Sessions Judge Puran Kumar Sharma, Special Judge Dr. Dushyant Dutt, Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahendra Kumar Tok, prison officials, LADC advocates, and women inmates.
Addressing the inmates, Mr. Sharma highlighted the long-term benefits of regular yoga and reiterated that yoga represented a healthy and balanced lifestyle rather than a symbolic annual event.
Meditation trainer Arjun Singh guided participants through various meditation techniques and explained the importance of mindfulness and mental discipline. Youth icon Parineeti Vishnoi also conducted demonstrations of different yoga postures during the programme.
Awareness Programme Held at Sir Pratap Law College
In another initiative marking International Yoga Day, judicial officers including District & Sessions Judge Puran Kumar Sharma, Special Judge Dr. Dushyant Dutt, and Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahendra Kumar Tok participated in a yoga awareness programme organized at Sir Pratap Law College, Jodhpur.
The event focused on spreading awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life, especially among students and young professionals.
