Folk artists will get 100 days of art performance opportunity

Jaipur, 24 June. Art, Literature, Culture, and Archeology Minister Dr. BD Kalla said that under the Mukhyamantri Lok Kalakar Protsahan Yojana-2023, the folk artists of the state will be honored for their art and an opportunity to perform for 100 days in their local areas will be ensured. He said that Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot is committed to the preservation of folk art and the art of folk artists and this scheme is his dream project. According to their intention, folk artists will be given employment through the performance of folk arts for 100 days per family every year.

Dr. Kalla was presiding over the first meeting of the State Appellate Policy Determination and Supervision Committee organized by the Department of Art, Literature, Culture, and Archeology at the Government Secretariat on Saturday.

Artists will get recognition

Dr. Kalla said that if the folk artist’s art is protected and he gets 100 days of assured employment, he can take care of his family comfortably. Along with this, the artist’s art will also go among the general public and they will get more work. He said that opportunities will be given to these artists to perform in state programs, festivals, fairs, festivals, ceremonies, school-college, etc.

There will be the facility of online registration-

Dr. Kalla said that a web portal will also be started soon for online registration of folk artists. All the folk artists of the state will be able to register themselves on the web portal through their Jan Aadhaar card.

Folk artist incentive card will get recognition-

He said that folk artists would be given folk artist incentive cards under the scheme. This card will be the artist’s primary document to identify an artist in order to get the art exposure opportunity. He informed me that Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi, Jodhpur has been made the nodal agency for the operation of the scheme.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary for Art, Literature, Culture, and Archeology Mrs. Gayatri Rathore said that folk artists will be given a chance to perform at the local level. He told that after applying the folk artist will be informed by sending messages for all the works like registration, allotment of work, and payment.

Joint Secretary of Finance Department   Devendra Arora, President of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi Jodhpur Mrs. Binaka Maloo, Secretary   Surajmal Rao and members of the committee and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
