Jaipur, August 25
In the 3rd Digitech Conclave-2022 held in New Delhi on Thursday, Rajasthan was awarded for its remarkable work in installing an IoT-based Smart Water Supply Monitoring System. Water Resources Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi received this award.
Public Health Engineering Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi said that due to the heterogeneous geographical conditions of a state like Rajasthan, the state has to face many challenges in the field of drinking water management. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, we have made better management of drinking water by turning these challenges into opportunities. Under the leadership of
Gehlot, digital technology, IT, and computers are being used to take the benefits of schemes to the last person. For the first time in the country, by giving smartphones to the women head of 1 crore 33 lakh families, they will be connected with the digital revolution. Dr. Joshi said that Rajasthan has installed IoT based smart water supply monitoring system in a maximum number of villages under a pilot project using digital technology. IoT (Internet of Things) based smart water supply monitoring systems have been installed for real-time monitoring of drinking water supply through taps in 15 villages of Jaipur district selected under the pilot project of Jal Jeevan Mission.
In this system, sensors have been installed at the start of the drinking water supply line, branch node, and tail node of the pipeline. These sensors are connected to the Internet. The data collected by the sensors is exchanged and monitored through the Internet. Through sensors, it is also known that the water in the tank is pure and there is no contamination in it. Along with this, the data of the water that the tail end consumer is getting, what is the pressure, how is the flow, pH value, TDS, chlorine, and fluoride in quantity, data is also received from the sensors.
Dr. Joshi thanked the organizers for choosing Rajasthan for the award.
Additional Chief Secretary of Public Health Engineering Dr. Subodh Agrawal informed about the efforts being made by the Rajasthan government for creating an environment conducive to investment and water conservation in the state and the steps taken in the direction of water management.
