Review meeting of the Tourism Department

Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh said that timely implementation of budget announcements is the top priority of the state government. He said that besides promoting tourism, the state government is working with commitment to give a new identity to the art, culture, and ancient heritage here in the country and the world.
Under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Singh, a review meeting of the budget announcements of the Tourism Department was organized at the Mantralaya building located at the Secretariat on Thursday. He said that there is immense potential for the development of tourism in Rajasthan. The state government is making every possible effort to promote tourism. Along with this, many important decisions have been taken by the state government to promote tourism activities, including industry status to tourism, a new tourism policy, and an increase in the amount of tourism development fund.
The Tourism Minister said that the state government has taken several historic decisions to promote tourism activities in the state.These are not only giving impetus to tourism activities in the state but also opening up new avenues for investment. Along with this, lakhs of people are also getting direct or indirect employment. He directed the officers to fulfill the budget announcements of the Chief Minister on priority. Also, while reviewing the pending cases, directed the officers to ensure the disposal of pending cases in a time-bound manner.
Principal Secretary of, the Tourism Department, Mrs. Gayatri Rathore said that the state government has provided many facilities and concessions for the tourism sector. To further develop the tourism sector, constructive efforts are being made by both the government and non-government sectors. He said that Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart is being organized by the Tourism Department to promote domestic tourism.
Smt. Rathore said that the third edition of Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) would be organized in Jaipur from July 14 to 16. This time the theme of RDTM will be ‘Sustainable Tourism’. To make the mart successful and memorable, the tourism department has completed all its preparations. He said that in the coming years, we want to take domestic tourism to a higher level. Travel planners and tour operators from across the country will reach this mart. This Domestic Travel Mart will provide a platform to travel agents of the country including hoteliers, travel agents, and tour operators to showcase their products. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various points like the progress of works being done for the restoration of ancient monuments and tourist places of the state, implementation of budget announcements and their current status, progress of the schemes of the department, preparations for organizing Rajasthan Tourism Travel Mart, work done by the department and so forth. Events to be done, event management for upcoming events, 12 creatives films, T.V. channel tender process, short films, train wrap advertisement proposal, sky diving proposal, maharaja Suraj mal panorama dig, including the progress of light and sound show at Jalmahal Deeg and Lohagarh Fort.
Tourism Director Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Special Assistant Sanjay Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer Mrs. Gargi Singh, Joint Director (Investment) Pawan Kumar Jain, Joint Director (Development) Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Joint Director (Publicity) Ms. Sumita Saroch in the meeting. Other officers were also present.
