Grand Indian Air Force Aerobatic Show Held at Jal Mahal

Jaipur witnessed a breathtaking display of skill and precision on Friday as the Indian Air Force staged a spectacular aerobatic show over the iconic Jal Mahal. The force’s celebrated Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and Sarang Helicopter Display Team captivated thousands of spectators with their daring manoeuvres and flawless formations.

The event was graced by Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, along with senior administrative officials, public representatives, armed forces officers, NCC cadets, school students and a large gathering of citizens.

Precision in the Skies

The Sarang team commenced the display with five vibrantly painted helicopters performing synchronized formations against the backdrop of Jaipur’s skyline. Their aerial manoeuvres, executed with remarkable precision and balance, demonstrated exceptional coordination and discipline—hallmarks of the Indian Air Force’s rigorous training standards. The crowd responded with enthusiastic applause as the helicopters maintained perfect spacing and alignment during complex formations.

Hawk Jets Dazzle the Crowd

The spectacle intensified when the striking red-and-white Hawk Mk-132 jets of the Surya Kiran team roared into the sky. The pilots performed intricate aerobatic feats including loops, barrel rolls, inverted flying, close-formation manoeuvres and the popular ‘DNA’ formation. Trails of tricolour smoke painted the sky, evoking strong emotions of pride and patriotism among onlookers.

Adding to the excitement, three accomplished pilots of the Surya Kiran team—Wing Commander Rajesh Kajla, Wing Commander Ankit Vashisth and Squadron Leader Sanjesh Singh—hail from Jaipur. Performing in their hometown marked a moment of special pride, with the audience rising to their feet in appreciation.

Inspiration for the Youth

The event served as a powerful source of inspiration for young attendees and NCC cadets, fostering enthusiasm for national service and instilling values of courage and dedication. Many students described the experience as unforgettable.

Officials confirmed that the main and more elaborate aerobatic show will take place on Sunday, February 22, at Jal Mahal, with even grander aerial performances planned.
