“Palace on Wheels” will be operated again from next month

Domestic and foreign tourists will get a big gift –  Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation

Chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Dharmendra Rathod said that Palace on Wheel Train will be re-operated in the last week of September. Rathod was presiding over the review meeting with the officials of the corporation at Paryatan Bhawan on Friday.

Rathod said that the Palace on Wheels is the identity of Rajasthan in the whole world. Serious efforts are being made by the corporation to restart the train. He told that all preparations have been made to run the train and probably by the last week of September, the train will start running on the track.

The Chairman informed that the Indian Railways and the Corporation have agreed to operate the train on the O&M model. For this, the railway has also issued an acceptance letter. Along with this, he said that plans are also being made to stop at Bundi and other tourist places of the state on the journey of the train operating from Delhi. Its route and timetable have been discussed in detail.

He said that as per the intention of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the corporation is committed to providing royal training to the tourists of the country and abroad. 70% of the tourists traveling by train are of European and American origin. Along with this, there is enthusiasm amongst the native tourists to travel on this royal train.

The Managing Director of the Corporation VP Singh, Executive Director Ashok Kumar Yogi, and high officials were present at the meeting.
