Katin and weavers will get training in the Khadi village industry Training programs will start at centers run by Khadi Board

Jaipur, 25 June. Katin and weavers of the state will be given training related to Khadi village industries. Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to start the training. Rs 3.88 crore will be spent on these training works. Training of one to two months will be available at seven training centers run by the Khadi Board.

The Khadi Board operates training centers at Kota, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Ajmer (Pushkar), Jaipur (Sanganer), and Sirohi (Mount Abu). After training at these centers, spinners and weavers will be helped to become self-reliant by getting self-employment. Khadi products will also get a boost. Training includes Khadi Design, Sarjam Repairing/Service and Maintenance of Charkha, Loom, Looms, etc., Embroidery on Cotton, Woolen, and Poly Khadi Fabrics, Carpet Making, Textile Embroidery Course, Packing (Hard Board and Sweet Cans Manufacturing), Agarbatti and Dhupbatti Manufacturing. Training will be given in many works including the leather industry (bag and sandal shoe manufacturing), steel furniture, oil ghani industry, grain pulses processing (spice, papad mangodi industry), soap, washing powder manufacturing, beekeeping work.

It is notable that the announcement in this regard was made by the Chief Minister in the budget year 2023-24.
