In Jaipur, ensuring the well-being of elephants used for rides in Amer has become a priority. Recognized globally, elephant rides in Amer attract tourists from all corners of the world. However, instances of tourists facing issues due to the poor health of elephants have prompted action from the forest department.

To address this concern, a team of veterinarians recently conducted a thorough health assessment of elephants in Hathi village, Amer. Over a span of two days, the veterinarians meticulously examined the elephants, taking blood and various other samples for analysis.

Dr. Arvind Mathur, a seasoned wildlife veterinarian, highlighted the significance of this health check-up initiative. He explained that the comprehensive examination encompassed tests for tuberculosis, skin infections, eye conditions, blood parameters, and gastrointestinal health. The objective is to ensure that only physically fit elephants receive certification, while those deemed unfit can receive appropriate care and attention.

Following the collection of samples, they will be sent to laboratories for further analysis. The outcome of these tests will determine the health status of the elephants, thereby contributing to the overall welfare of these majestic animals.
