Campaign against adulteration, inspection of spice factory in VKI area, more than 19 thousand kg of adulterated spices seized

Under the direction of Food Safety and Drug Control Commissioner Mr. Iqbal Khan, a continuous campaign is being run against adulteration. On Monday, under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Shri Pankaj Ojha, while taking action on the spice factory in Vishwakarma Industrial Area, more than 19 thousand kg of spices were seized on the grounds of adulteration.
The additional Commissioner said that the team of the Food Safety Commissionerate reached Road No. 9 in the Vishwakarma Industrial Area in the morning. There is a spice factory running under the name Varsha Enterprises here.

Ojha said that along with chili and coriander of light quality, the stalks were also being ground. Adulteration of color was found in turmeric and chili. The colors added to the spices were also recovered from the spot and samples of the spices were taken. More than 19 thousand kg of colored spices were found in the factory, action was taken to seize them.
Food safety officers Ratan Godara, Amit Sharma, Pawan Gupta, and Narendra Sharma were present in the team.
