Jaipur, July 18
To prevent fake GST registration and fake ITC in the state, a special campaign was launched at the national level from 16 May 2023 to 15 July 2023. So far, names of 1380 suspected registered dealers have been sent by GSTN/DGARM and 237 have been identified at the local level. Out of total of 1617 GST numbers, 1606 were checked out of which 290 dealers were found unverified. Out of these unverified firms, ITC of ` 21330.68 lakh is likely to be involved. ITC of 2620.76 lahks has been blocked by the department so far.
It is worth mentioning that action against bogus/non-existent firms had already been initiated by the department. Chief Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department, Rajasthan, Ravi Kumar Surpur said that through this campaign, an unprecedented achievement has been achieved in stopping continuous leakage of revenue on fake firms.
