Hundreds of journalists from various districts took out a procession and protested in Jaipur on the call of the Rajasthan state unit of IFWJ (Indian Federation of Working Journalists), which has been continuously fighting for long-standing demands including the Journalist Protection Act.

Journalists under the leadership of State President Upendra Singh Rathore took out a march from Pink City Press Club of Jaipur to the Vidhan Sabha today and prepared a delegation of eight members to hand over the memorandum to the representative of the government, where first permission was reduced to five and then to three journalists. The organization got agitated and sat on a dharna outside the Vidhansabha, even the raindrops could not distract the journalists and they stood there on the road for four hours.

After a long period of persuasion by the police administration, cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas called a ten-member delegation to the assembly and taking the memorandum said that all the demands of the journalists are completely reasonable, in the past also he himself went ahead and supported this demand of the journalists. He did and is still keeping his promise.

He will meet the Chief Minister and strongly raise the demand for the Journalist Protection Act.

After that, the delegation met RTDC Chairman Dharmendra Rathod and Chief Secretary Usha Sharma at the secretariat, where they gave detailed information about their demands and also apprised them about the activities of the organization.

On which he also sought some other information from the organization and assured to get it implemented in Rajasthan state as per the drafts of Journalist Security Act in different states
