World camel day

22 June 2023 On the occasion of World Camel Day, Camel Safari was organized under the joint aegis of Mehrangarh Museum Trust and Camel Contingent of Border Security Force, on 22nd June, at 8 am today. This safari started from gate number 1 of Si Subal and reached Mehrangarh fort via Rao Jodha Marg. About 45 camels participated in it. Camel Parade was organized under the leadership of IG Mr. Puneet Rastogi, STC Border Security Force, Jodhpur. DIG Mr. Yogendra Singh Rathod, Mr. Dhirendra Singh Rathore, 2 IC, and other officers of C Sub Force were present in the ceremony.

On reaching Mehrangarh, this parade group was welcomed by members of Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Camel Karizma, TACO, INTACH Jodhpur, Camel Conservation Trust, and Shri Mahavir Yuva Sangh.

It is notable that the election symbol of His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji was ‘Camel’ and the national animal of Rajasthan ‘Camel’ symbol was discussed in the entire Marwar. The number of ‘Camel’ called the ship of the desert is decreasing day by day. Through this safari, the message of camel conservation was conveyed to the people on the occasion of World Camel Day and the birth centenary celebrations of His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji.

Various camel herders and guardians, various workers associated with animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and children and teachers of Kidzee School also participated in this ceremony.
