54.71 lakh people will play in Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games

Jaipur, 16 June. From next week in Rajasthan, the excitement of sports will be in full swing. The Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games will start across the state on June 23. The process of registration to participate in these games has been completed. Around 54.71 lakh people have registered themselves for different sports events, which is a world record.

Government Secretary, of Sports Department Naresh Kumar Thakral said that about 42.28 lakh people have registered themselves to participate in the Rural Olympic Games, out of which 23.80 lakh are men and 18.48 lakh are women. Out of these, 4.48 lakh persons have been registered in the form of 40 thousand 936 teams. At the same time, about 12.43 lakh people have registered to participate in the Urban Olympic Games, out of which 7.71 lakh are men and 4.72 lakh are women. Out of these, 47 thousand 67 persons have been registered as 4504 teams. He told that after the completion of the registration process, an editing facility is being made available to the participants. Any person who has registered can change his sport or category.

Thakral told that 7-7 types of sports will be organized under rural and urban Olympics. Women and elders are also showing special enthusiasm towards these games being organized up to the Gram Panchayat and Municipality levels. Competitions will be organized at three levels in Rural Olympic Games and four levels in Urban Olympic Games. He said that by organizing these games, a positive atmosphere is being created in the state towards sports, which will have far-reaching results.
